about

So this is a work in progress. I normally do several takes of a vocal, so I can mix and match and get the best of each. I thought about playing the song live, but I wanted the audio to sound good. If you saw the video on YouTube, you know I wasn't all that worried about the image.

I wrote this song a while ago in New York. It's part of an album that I'm working on of the last songs that I wrote in New York before my daughter was born

lyrics

Its' been a long time since we began this journey
We walked for miles and we've gotten nowhere
Our backs are broke, and our eyes are burning
Seems like something's gone we can't replace

You've seen the signs, a thousand times
But you don't know, which way to go
Can't climb that hill, but you can't stand still,
And I know, I know, I know, I know I know
you're tired of the status quo.

How many times must we come up short?
How many tries will it take to see?
How many dreams must we see get shattered?
How many lives until we are free?

The chosen one might not come
And your prayers might not get you there
You've had enough, but you can't give up
And I know, I know, I know, I know I know
you're tired of the status quo.

You marched for days across the desert sands
You climbed that mountain and we crossed that sea
You tried so hard to understand
But you're not quite sure where you should be

You pray for help for someone else
When the truth is that it comes from you
And could it be? You're all you need
And I know, I know, I know, I know I know
you're tired of the status quo.
